AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, in licensing of drivers, further providing for

3

issuance and content of driver's licenses.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 1510 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

8

§ 1510.  Issuance and content of driver's license.

(a.1)  Veteran's driver's license designation.--

11

(1)  Upon application by a qualified applicant, the

12

department shall issue a driver's license or identification

card that clearly indicates that the person is a veteran of

2

the United States Armed Forces. A qualified applicant is an

3

individual who has served in the United States Armed Forces,

4

including a reserve component or the National Guard, and who

5

was discharged or released from such service under conditions

6

other than dishonorable.

(2)  An applicant shall provide the department with a

8

United States Department of Defense discharge document known

9

as a DD-214 or a National Guard Bureau discharge document

10

known as an NGB-22.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
