AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for venue in

personal injury actions.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

§ 5101.2.  Venue in personal injury actions.

Notwithstanding any other law, a civil action or proceeding

brought to recover damages for death or injury to a person may

only be filed in the county in which the cause of action arose.

Section 2.  The addition of 42 Pa.C.S. § 5101.2 shall apply

to a a civil action or proceeding brought to recover damages for

death or injury on or after the effective date of this section.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
