AN ACT

Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes, further providing real estate tax

3

exemptions for disabled veterans.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 8902 of Title 51 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

§ 8902.  Exemption.

(c)  Lump sum benefit payments.--Lump sum benefit payments

11

shall have no bearing on the question of need when determining

12

the applicant's economic status under subsection (a), as long as

13

the portion of the lump sum applicable to the current

14

application period, on a pro rata basis, does not exceed the

15

rebuttable presumption requirement under this chapter.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
