AN ACT

Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes, in falsification and intimidation,

further providing for false reports to law enforcement

authorities.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 4906 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

§ 4906.  False reports to law enforcement authorities.

(d)  Restitution.--A person convicted of violating subsection

(a) or (b) shall, in addition to any other sentence imposed or

restitution ordered under 42 Pa.C.S. § 9721(c) (relating to

sentencing generally), be sentenced to pay restitution in an

amount equal to the costs incurred for any fire or police

response, emergency medical service or emergency preparedness

response or governmental agency response to the false

information or report.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
