AN ACT

Amending Title 20 (Decedents, Estates and Fiduciaries) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in grant of letters,

3

further providing for persons entitled.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 3155(c) of Title 20 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended and subsection (b) is amended

8

by adding a paragraph to read:

§ 3155.  Persons entitled.

(b)  Letters of administration.--Letters of administration

12

shall be granted by the register, in such form as the case shall

13

require, to one or more of those hereinafter mentioned and,

14

except for good cause, in the following order:

(9)  A not-for-profit corporation organized for community

development purposes.

(c)  Time limitation.--Except with the consent of those

3

enumerated in [paragraphs (1)] subsection (b)(1), (2) and (3),

4

no letters shall be issued to those enumerated in [paragraph

5

(4)] subsection (b)(4), (5) [or], (8) [of subsection (b)] or (9) 

6

until 30 days after the decedent's death.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
