        INTRODUCED BY ORIE, PILEGGI, WONDERLING, REGOLA, STOUT, STACK,
           KASUNIC, ERICKSON, O'PAKE, WAUGH, BOSCOLA, TARTAGLIONE,
           TOMLINSON, GREENLEAF, FONTANA, FERLO, RAFFERTY, PIPPY,
           DINNIMAN, KITCHEN, ROBBINS, GORDNER AND LAVALLE, MAY 5, 2008

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, MAY 5, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Commemorating the seventh anniversary of the Educational
     2     Improvement Tax Credit.

     3     WHEREAS, The Educational Improvement Tax Credit has provided
     4  educational help for tens of thousands of Pennsylvania students
     5  during the past seven years; and
     6     WHEREAS, For the current school year, more than 40,000
     7  students benefited from Educational Improvement Tax Credit
     8  scholarships; and
     9     WHEREAS, More than $360 million has been contributed to
    10  eligible Educational Improvement Tax Credit organizations by
    11  more than 3,200 businesses since the program began in 2001, with
    12  approximately 300 new businesses participating this year;
    13  therefore be it
    14     RESOLVED, That the Senate commemorate the seventh anniversary
    15  of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit on May 6, 2008.
