No. 280 Session of 2008

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, APRIL 2, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing April 2008 as the "Month of the Young Child" in
     2     Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Borough of Pottstown celebrates the "Month of
     4  the Young Child" as a time to focus on the importance of
     5  stabilizing the future through ensuring that a positive early
     6  learning climate exists throughout the community, whether at
     7  home, in child care or at school; and
     8     WHEREAS, Pottstown Early Action for Kindergarten Readiness
     9  and other local agencies and organizations, in conjunction with
    10  the National Association for the Education of Young Children,
    11  are celebrating the "Month of the Young Child" in April 2008;
    12  and
    13     WHEREAS, These organizations are working to improve early
    14  learning opportunities, which are crucial to the growth and
    15  development of young children and to building better futures for
    16  everyone in Pottstown; and
    17     WHEREAS, All young children and their families across this


     1  nation and in this Commonwealth deserve access to high-quality
     2  early education and care; therefore be it
     3     RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize and support the people,
     4  programs and policies that are committed to high-quality early
     5  childhood education as the right choice for kids; and be it
     6  further
     7     RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize April 2008 as the "Month
     8  of the Young Child" in Pottstown, Pennsylvania and encourage all
     9  citizens to work to make a good investment in quality early
    10  learning in this Commonwealth.
