A RESOLUTION
1 Designating May 19, 2007, as "Pennsylvania Youth Chorale Day."
2 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Youth Chorale (PYC) is a community
3 children's choir based in Bucks and Montgomery Counties for boys
4 and girls 7 to 15 years of age; and
5 WHEREAS, The PYC was founded in 1977 by Artistic Director
6 Eileen Finley; and
7 WHEREAS, The choir is an educational and civic instructional
8 arts program for children emphasizing training of musicians and
9 vocal study for the cultural enrichment of its members and the
10 community; and
11 WHEREAS, Over the years the PYC has performed in 25 states,
12 four Canadian provinces, the British Isles and Germany; and
13 WHEREAS, In the 2006-2007 season, the PYC is celebrating its
14 30th anniversary; and
15 WHEREAS, A special 30th Anniversary Concert is being
16 performed on May 19, 2007, in Langhorne, Pennsylvania; therefore
17 be it
1 RESOLVED, that the Senate designate May 19, 2007, as
2 "Pennsylvania Youth Chorale Day."
