           ARMSTRONG, ORIE, TARTAGLIONE, STOUT, KASUNIC, COSTA, PIPPY,
           BROWNE, BRUBAKER, ROBBINS, BOSCOLA, FONTANA, WASHINGTON,
           ERICKSON, RAFFERTY, M. WHITE, WONDERLING, FOLMER, LOGAN,
           HUGHES, MUSTO, EARLL, WOZNIAK, LAVALLE AND GREENLEAF,
           APRIL 25, 2007

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, APRIL 25, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating April 26, 2007, as "Take Our Daughters and Sons to
     2     Work Day" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, On Thursday, April 26, 2007, for the 15th
     4  consecutive year, millions of Americans will head to work with
     5  children in tow to celebrate the 15th annual Take Our Daughters
     6  To Work and Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day; and
     7     WHEREAS, "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" is part of
     8  the Ms. Foundation for Women's campaign to help children achieve
     9  their full potential in the home, school and community and
    10  explore future opportunities in the workplace; and
    11     WHEREAS, "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" inspires
    12  all children, regardless of economic, social and physical
    13  challenges, to succeed in all future aspects of their adult
    14  life; and
    15     WHEREAS, "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day"
    16  meaningfully addresses the roles of men and women as part of the

     1  work force and as part of a family; and
     2     WHEREAS, Students participating in "Take Our Daughters and
     3  Sons to Work Day" experience first-hand, with the guidance of a
     4  caring adult mentor, the countless options available for their
     5  future work and family lives; and
     6     WHEREAS, Employers participating in "Take Our Daughters and
     7  Sons to Work Day" gain better understanding of the challenges,
     8  ideas and work-life issues of a future generation; and
     9     WHEREAS, More than three million employers are expected to
    10  participate in the program this year, ranging from Fortune 500
    11  companies to small employers and government agencies in every
    12  state across the country; therefore be it
    13     RESOLVED, That the Senate designate April 26, 2007, as "Take
    14  Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" in Pennsylvania.
