        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, APRIL 18, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of April 22 through 28, 2007, as "Week of
     2     the Young Child" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, Many organizations throughout this Commonwealth, in
     4  conjunction with the National Association for the Education of
     5  Young Children, are celebrating the "Week of the Young Child"
     6  from April 22 through 28, 2007; and
     7     WHEREAS, These organizations are working to improve early
     8  learning opportunities, which are crucial to growth and
     9  development and to building better futures for all children; and
    10     WHEREAS, Young children and their families in this
    11  Commonwealth and nationwide deserve access to high-quality early
    12  education and care; and
    13     WHEREAS, In recognizing and supporting the people, programs
    14  and policies committed to high-quality early childhood
    15  education, we can all help to build better futures for all
    16  children; therefore be it

     1     RESOLVED,  That the Senate designate the week of April 22
     2  through 28, 2007, as the "Week of the Young Child" in
     3  Pennsylvania.
