A RESOLUTION 1 Designating the week of March 25 through 31, 2007, as "Boys and 2 Girls Clubs of America Week" in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America have touched the 4 lives of millions of children and teens through membership and 5 community outreach, with more than 4,000 club locations in all 6 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands plus domestic and 7 international military bases; and 8 WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is the home to 17 independent Boys and 9 Girls Clubs of America organizations operating in 75 10 neighborhoods; and 11 WHEREAS, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America serve more than 12 115,000 children from ages 5 to 18 across this Commonwealth; and 13 WHEREAS, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America have helped, and 14 will continue to help, hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvania 15 youngsters avoid drugs and gangs, earn better grades, stay fit, 16 prepare for careers, learn confidence and responsibility and 17 develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills; therefore
