                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for resident license and fee
     3     exemptions and for license costs and fees.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Sections 2706(f)(1) and (g)(1) and 2709(a) of
     7  Title 34 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended
     8  to read:
     9  § 2706.  Resident license and fee exemptions.
    10     * * *
    11     (f)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses.--
    12         (1)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses shall
    13     be issued by the commission or county treasurer to any person
    14     otherwise eligible for a resident hunting license in this
    15     Commonwealth who provides documentation that within the
    16     previous 24 months the person was deployed overseas as a
    17     member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard or Air
    18     National Guard on active Federal service for a period of

     1     [180] 60 consecutive days or more or was released early from
     2     such service because of an injury or disease incurred in the
     3     line of duty. Only one Pennsylvania National Guard hunting
     4     license under this subsection may be issued for each
     5     qualifying deployment of a person applying for the license.
     6         * * *
     7     (g)  Reserve component of armed forces hunting licenses.--
     8         (1)  Reserve component of the armed forces hunting
     9     licenses shall be issued by the commission or county
    10     treasurer to any person otherwise eligible for a resident
    11     hunting license in this Commonwealth who provides
    12     documentation that within the previous 24 months the person
    13     was deployed overseas as a member of the reserve component of
    14     the armed forces pursuant to 51 Pa.C.S. § 7301 (relating to
    15     definitions) for a period of [180] 60 consecutive days or
    16     more or was released early from service because of an injury
    17     or disease incurred in the line of duty. Only one hunting
    18     license under this subsection may be issued for each
    19     qualifying deployment of a person applying for the license.

    21  § 2709.  License costs and fees.
    22     (a)  License costs.--Any person who qualifies under the
    23  provisions of this chapter shall be issued the applicable
    24  license upon payment of the following costs and the issuing
    25  agent's fee:
    26         (1)  (i)  Junior resident hunting - $5.
    27             (ii)  Junior resident combination hunting and
    28         furtaker - $8.
    29         (2)  (i)  Adult resident hunting - $19 for the period
    30         ending before July 1, 2009.

     1             (ii)  Adult resident hunting - $25 for the period
     2         beginning after June 30, 2009, and ending before July 1,
     3         2012.
     4             (iii)  Adult resident hunting - $30 for the period
     5         beginning after June 30, 2012, and ending before July 1,
     6         2015.
     7             (iv)  Adult resident hunting - $35 for the period
     8         beginning after June 30, 2015, and thereafter.
     9             [(ii)] (v)  Resident military personnel hunting - $1.
    10             [(iii)] (vi)  Former prisoner of war hunting - $1.
    11             [(iv)] (vii)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting -
    12         $1.
    13             [(v)] (viii)  Reserve component of the armed forces
    14         hunting - $1.
    15         (3)  (i)  Senior resident hunting - $12.
    16             (ii)  Senior lifetime resident hunting - $50.
    17             (iii)  Senior lifetime resident combination hunting
    18         and furtaker - $100.
    19         (4)  Bear hunting:
    20             (i)  Resident - $15.
    21             (ii)  Nonresident - $35.
    22         (5)  Antlerless deer:
    23             (i)  Resident, including resident military, resident
    24         disabled veteran and landowner - $5 for the period ending
    25         before July 1, 2009.
    26             (ii)  Resident, including military, resident disabled
    27         veteran and landowner - $12 for the period beginning
    28         after June 30, 2009 and ending before July 1, 2015.
    29             (iii)  Resident, including resident military,
    30         resident disabled veteran and landowner - $15 for the

     1         period beginning after June 30, 2015, and thereafter.
     2             [(ii)] (iv)  Nonresident - $25.
     3         (6)  Archery deer:
     4             (i)  Resident - $15.
     5             (ii)  Nonresident - $25.
     6         (7)  Muzzleloader deer:
     7             (i)  Resident - $10.
     8             (ii)  Nonresident - $20.
     9         (8)  (Reserved).
    10         (9)  Adult nonresident hunting - [$100] $150.
    11         (10)  (i)  Junior nonresident hunting - [$40] $5.
    12             (ii)  Junior nonresident combination hunting and
    13         furtaker - [$50] $8.
    14         (11)  Seven-day nonresident small game - $30.
    15         (12)  Junior resident furtakers - $5.
    16         (13)  Adult resident furtakers - $19.
    17         (14)  (i)  Senior resident furtakers - $12.
    18             (ii)  Senior lifetime resident furtaker - $50.
    19         (15)  Adult nonresident furtaker - $80.
    20         (16)  Junior nonresident furtaker - $40.
    21         (17)  Resident disabled veteran hunting or furtaker under
    22     section 2706(b) (relating to disabled veterans) - no cost.
    23         (18)  Replacement license - $5. Antlerless deer and bear
    24     licenses shall be replaced by the original issuing agent
    25     only.
    26         (19)  Owners or possessors of land open to public hunting
    27     under section 2706(d) (relating to owners or possessors of
    28     land open to public hunting) - $3.
    29         (20)  Migratory game bird hunting license:
    30             (i)  Resident - [$2] $5.

     1             (ii)  Nonresident - $5.
     2         (21)  Elk hunting license:
     3             (i)  Resident - $25.
     4             (ii)  Nonresident - $250.
     5         (22)  Special wild turkey license:
     6             (i)  Resident - $20.
     7             (ii)  Nonresident - $40.
     8     * * *
     9     Section 2.  This act shall take effect as follows:
    10         (1)  The amendment of 34 Pa.C.S. § 2709(a)(9), (10) and
    11     (20) shall take effect July 1, 2009.
    12         (2)  The remainder of this act shall take effect
    13     immediately.
