        REFERRED TO GAME AND FISHERIES, JANUARY 29, 2008

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for resident license and fee
     3     exemptions.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 2706(e), (f) and (g) of Title 34 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
     8  § 2706.  Resident license and fee exemptions.
     9     * * *
    10     (e)  Military personnel hunting licenses.--Resident military
    11  personnel hunting licenses shall be issued by the commission
    12  [or], county treasurer or authorized license-issuing agent to
    13  persons who satisfy all of the following requirements:
    14         (1)  Are residents of this Commonwealth.
    15         (2)  Are on active and full-time duty in the United
    16     States Armed Forces.


     1         (3)  Are assigned to a facility outside this
     2     Commonwealth.
     3         (4)  Are on temporary leave in this Commonwealth.
     4  Such persons shall comply with the regulations of the
     5  commission.
     6     (f)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses.--
     7         (1)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses shall
     8     be issued by the commission [or], county treasurer or
     9     authorized license-issuing agent to any person otherwise
    10     eligible for a resident hunting license in this Commonwealth
    11     who provides documentation that within the previous 24 months
    12     the person was deployed overseas as a member of the
    13     Pennsylvania Army National Guard or Air National Guard on
    14     active Federal service for a period of 180 consecutive days
    15     or more or was released early from such service because of an
    16     injury or disease incurred in the line of duty. Only one
    17     Pennsylvania National Guard hunting license under this
    18     subsection may be issued for each qualifying deployment of a
    19     person applying for the license.
    20         (2)  The commission may promulgate regulations to
    21     implement this subsection.
    22     (g)  Reserve component of armed forces hunting licenses.--
    23         (1)  Reserve component of the armed forces hunting
    24     licenses shall be issued by the commission [or], county
    25     treasurer or authorized license-issuing agent to any person
    26     otherwise eligible for a resident hunting license in this
    27     Commonwealth who provides documentation that within the
    28     previous 24 months the person was deployed overseas as a
    29     member of the reserve component of the armed forces pursuant
    30     to 51 Pa.C.S. § 7301 (relating to definitions) for a period

     1     of 180 consecutive days or more or was released early from
     2     service because of an injury or disease incurred in the line
     3     of duty. Only one hunting license under this subsection may
     4     be issued for each qualifying deployment of a person applying
     5     for the license.
     6         (2)  The commission may promulgate regulations to
     7     implement this subsection.
     8     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
