AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for the offense of
3 fraudulent airbags.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 7331. Fraudulent airbags.
9 (a) Offense defined.--It is unlawful for any person to
10 knowingly purchase, sell, install or reinstall on a vehicle a <--
11 fraudulent airbag.
12 (b) Grading.--Any person who violates subsection (a) commits
13 a misdemeanor of the third degree.
14 (c) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following
15 words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this
16 subsection:
17 "Fraudulent airbag." Any item or object, other than an
1 airbag that was designed in accordance with Federal safety
2 regulations for the make, model and year of motor vehicle that
3 is part of the inflatable restraint system for the motor
4 vehicle.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
