A RESOLUTION 1 Proclaiming November 11 through 17, 2007, as "American Education 2 Week" in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, National attention must be focused on the integral 4 role that education plays in preparing citizens of the United 5 States for the future in an increasingly competitive and 6 interdependent world; and 7 WHEREAS, A well-educated workforce is vital to the economic 8 well-being of the United States and this Commonwealth; and 9 WHEREAS, A good education leads to more skilled and higher 10 paying jobs; therefore be it 11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives proclaim the week 12 of November 11 through 17, 2007, as "American Education Week" in 13 Pennsylvania; and be it further 14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge educators, 15 parents and students throughout this Commonwealth to observe
1 "American Education Week" and to use it to improve the 2 educational system in this Commonwealth; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge businesses 4 in this Commonwealth to encourage employees who are parents to 5 visit their children's schools and get more involved in efforts 6 to promote and enhance learning.
