        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           FEBRUARY 5, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating May 26, 2007, as the "Tenth Annual National Moment
     2     of Silence Day" in Pennsylvania and urging emergency medical
     3     service providers and agencies throughout this Commonwealth
     4     to observe a special moment of silence in honor of those
     5     emergency medical service personnel who have died in the line
     6     of duty.

     7     WHEREAS, The National EMS Memorial Service plans to hold a
     8  memorial event on May 26, 2007, in Roanoke, Virginia, to honor
     9  and remember those members of our nation's emergency medical
    10  services who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in
    11  the line of duty during the past year; and
    12     WHEREAS, The sponsors of the event ask for voluntary
    13  participation by all the nation's emergency medical service
    14  providers, agencies and emergency communication centers to
    15  observe 60 seconds of radio silence timed to coincide with a


     1  moment of silence observed during the actual service held in
     2  Roanoke, Virginia, set for 7:00 p.m. (EDT) on May 26, 2007; and
     3     WHEREAS, This year marks the tenth time this shared moment of
     4  silence for emergency medical service members is being observed
     5  across the nation; therefore be it
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 26,
     7  2007, as the "Tenth Annual National Moment of Silence Day" in
     8  Pennsylvania and urge emergency medical service providers and
     9  agencies throughout this Commonwealth to observe a special
    10  moment of silence in honor of those emergency medical service
    11  personnel who have died in the line of duty.
