AN ACT 1 Making an appropriation to the Commonwealth Medical College, 2 Scranton. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. The sum of $4,700,000 is hereby appropriated to 6 the Commonwealth Medical College, Scranton, for the fiscal year 7 July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009, for instruction in the Doctor of 8 Medicine program. 9 Section 2. Payments to the Commonwealth Medical College on 10 account of the appropriation provided in section 1 shall be made 11 quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the basis of costs 12 during the fiscal year. 13 Section 3. The Commonwealth Medical College shall provide 14 full, complete and accurate information as may be required by 15 the Department of Education or the chairman or the minority 16 chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the 17 chairman or the minority chairman of the Appropriations
1 Committee of the House of Representatives. 2 Section 4. The Commonwealth Medical College shall report its 3 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements 4 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and 5 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the 6 Higher Education Finance Manual (1975) and the Commonwealth of 7 Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of Higher 8 Education, State-Related Universities and Non-State-Related 9 Colleges and Universities. 10 Section 5. The trustees of the Commonwealth Medical College 11 shall report on forms provided by the Department of Education to 12 both the chairman and minority chairman of the Appropriations 13 Committee of the Senate and the chairman and minority chairman 14 of the Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives 15 by September 30, 2009, on how State-appropriated funds were 16 expended for fiscal year 2008-2009 to reduce the costs to 17 Pennsylvania resident students or to provide services to 18 Pennsylvania residents. 19 Section 6.
