                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," further providing for approved
     6     reimbursable rental for certain leases and approved
     7     reimbursable sinking fund charges on indebtedness.

     8     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     9  hereby enacts as follows:
    10     Section 1.  Section 2574(b)(1) and (c) introductory paragraph
    11  and (1) of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as
    12  the Public School Code of 1949, added March 22, 1956 (1955
    13  P.L.1315, No.417), are amended to read:
    14     Section 2574.  Approved Reimbursable Rental for Leases
    15  Hereafter Approved and Approved Reimbursable Sinking Fund
    16  Charges on Indebtedness.--* * *
    17     (b)  For new school buildings the approved building
    18  construction cost shall be the lesser of
    19     (1)  The cost of constructing the school buildings including


     1  the cost of essential fixtures and equipment and the cost of
     2  employing a construction manager to oversee the new school
     3  construction but excluding architect's fees in excess of six per
     4  cent (6%) of the contract price, or
     5     * * *
     6     (c)  For additions [or], alterations or improvements,
     7  including, but not limited to, capital improvements, related to
     8  school safety to existing buildings approved building
     9  construction cost shall be the lesser of
    10     (1)  The cost of constructing the additions [or], alterations
    11  or improvements, including, but not limited to, capital
    12  improvements, related to school safety including the cost of
    13  essential fixtures and equipment and the cost of employing a
    14  construction manager to oversee the school additions or
    15  alterations but excluding architect's fees in excess of six per
    16  cent (6%) of the contract price, or
    17     * * *
    18     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
