AN ACT
1 Amending Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for powers and
3 duties of the Municipal Police Officers' Education and
4 Training Commission.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 2164 of Title 53 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
9 § 2164. Powers and duties of commission.
10 The powers and duties of the commission shall be as follows:

12 (16) To grant waivers of in-service training required
13 under paragraph (6) to police officers who are unable to
14 attend in-service training due to service in the military or
15 National Guard or as a result of injury sustained in service
16 as a police officer.
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
