                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for investigation of
     3     reports of suspected child abuse by county agencies.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 6368(a.1) of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 6368.  Investigation of reports.
     9     * * *
    10     (a.1)  Investigation of report concerning child-care service
    11  personnel or school employee.--Upon notification that an
    12  investigation involves suspected child abuse perpetrated by
    13  child-care service personnel, including a child-care service
    14  employee, service provider [or], administrator or school
    15  employee, the respective child-care service or school must
    16  immediately implement a plan of supervision or alternative
    17  arrangement subject to the county agency's approval for the


     1  individual under investigation to ensure the safety of the child
     2  and other children who are in the care of the child-care
     3  service. The county agency shall provide notice to the employer
     4  of the child-care service employee, service provider,
     5  administrator or school employee that the individual is under
     6  investigation. Such plan of supervision or alternative
     7  arrangement shall be kept on file with the county agency until
     8  such time that the investigation is completed.

    10     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
