AN ACT 1 Amending the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103, No.69), entitled, as 2 reenacted and amended, "An act concerning townships of the 3 second class; and amending, revising, consolidating and 4 changing the law relating thereto," further providing for 5 intergovernmental cooperation, joint ownership and 6 maintenance. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 2205 of the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103, 10 No.69), known as The Second Class Township Code, reenacted and 11 amended November 9, 1995 (P.L.350, No.60), is amended to read: 12 Section 2205. Intergovernmental Cooperation, Joint Ownership 13 and Maintenance.--[The board of supervisors may join with any 14 one or more municipal corporations, counties or school districts 15 to acquire, create, equip, maintain and operate any park or 16 recreation area to serve residents of the township under the act 17 of July 12, 1972 (P.L.762, No.180), referred to as the 18 Intergovernmental Cooperation Law.] (a) For the purpose of
1 acquiring property for, creating, equipping, operating or 2 maintaining a park, playground, playfield, gymnasium, public 3 bath, swimming pool or indoor recreation center or public 4 recreation area and similar facility or program for public use, 5 the board of supervisors may cooperate or join with any one or 6 more of any of the following: 7 (1) A local government in accordance with 53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 23 8 Subch. A (relating to intergovernmental cooperation). 9 (2) A nonprofit corporation. 10 (b) A township cooperating or joining with a nonprofit 11 corporation, as authorized under subsection (a) and except as 12 otherwise provided by law, shall comply with applicable 13 statutory requirements governing competitive bidding, written or 14 telephonic price quotations and execution of contracts. 15 Section 2.
