AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," further providing for appropriations
6 for ensuing years.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 2551 of the act of March 10, 1949
10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is
11 amended to read:
12 Section 2551. [Unused] Appropriations for Ensuing Years.--
13 (a) At the end of any fiscal year, any balance of the State
14 appropriation remaining on hand through forfeiture, or
15 otherwise, shall be added to the State appropriation made up for
16 the ensuing fiscal year.
17 (b) If reimbursements under this article are not enacted by
18 the last day of the fiscal year and if this causes a school
19 district to incur a loan to continue operations, the amount of
1 the interest on the loan shall be added to the appropriation for
2 reimbursement of the affected school district for the ensuing
3 fiscal year.
4 Section 2. The amendment of section 2551 of the act shall
5 apply to fiscal years beginning after June 30, 2007.
6 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
