           WOZNIAK, COSTA, KITCHEN, BOSCOLA, ERICKSON, ROBBINS, PUNT,
           KASUNIC, STOUT, WENGER, LEMMOND, TARTAGLIONE, STACK,
           GREENLEAF, ORIE AND WAUGH, FEBRUARY 11, 2005

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for veteran plates and placard.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  Section 1342(f) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     6  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     7  § 1342.  Veteran plates and placard.
     8     * * *
     9     (f)  Return of plates and placard.--
    10         (1)  Upon the death of a veteran to whom a severely
    11     disabled veteran plate or placard has been issued under this
    12     section, the severely disabled veteran plate or placard shall
    13     be void 30 days after death and shall not be displayed on any
    14     vehicle. The personal representative of the deceased shall
    15     return the plate to the department. If there is no personal
    16     representative, the spouse or, if there is no spouse, the
    17     next of kin of the deceased shall return the plate or placard

     1     to the department.
     2         (2)  Upon the death of a veteran to whom a prisoner of
     3     war plate has been issued, the veteran's spouse may continue
     4     to use the plate during the spouse's lifetime.
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
