A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing the week of July 24 through 30, 2005, as a time for
2 celebrating the 15th anniversary of the signing of the
3 Americans with Disabilities Act.
4 WHEREAS, Federal legislation known as the Americans with
5 Disabilities Act, or ADA, was signed into law on July 26, 1990;
6 and
7 WHEREAS, This groundbreaking legislation has impacted and
8 continues to impact the lives of many residents of Pennsylvania
9 by helping them to more easily experience the freedoms which our
10 country provides; and
11 WHEREAS, Throughout Pennsylvania, Centers for Independent
12 Living help to implement the ADA and enhance the lives of
13 persons with disabilities; therefore be it
14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
15 week of July 24 through 30, 2005, as a time for celebrating the
16 15th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with
17 Disabilities Act.
