                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     Commonwealth portion of fines.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 3571(b)(2) of Title 42 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 3571.  Commonwealth portion of fines, etc.

    10     (b)  Vehicle offenses.--
    11         * * *
    12         (2)  (i)  Except as provided in paragraph (4), when
    13         prosecution under any other provision of Title 75
    14         (relating to vehicles) is the result of State Police
    15         action, all fines, forfeited recognizances and other
    16         forfeitures imposed, lost or forfeited shall be payable
    17         to the Commonwealth, for credit to the Motor License
    18         Fund. One-half of the revenue shall be paid to

     1         municipalities as designated in subparagraph (ii) in the
     2         same ratio provided in section 4 of the act of June 1,
     3         1956 (P.L.1944, No.655), relating to partial allocation
     4         of liquid fuels and fuel use tax proceeds.
     5             (ii)  Only municipalities having a population of less
     6         than 9,000 or that provide local police services through
     7         a municipal police department, participation in a
     8         regional police department or contracts with other
     9         municipal or regional police for police services may
    10         receive revenue under subparagraph (i).

    12     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
