AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
2 act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
3 welfare laws of the Commonwealth," providing for copayments
4 for prescription drugs.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known
8 as the Public Welfare Code, is amended by adding a section to
9 read:
10 Section 460. Copayments for Prescription Drugs.--If a
11 medical assistance recipient or a general assistance recipient
12 is unable to pay a copayment for prescription drugs and so
13 informs the provider, the provider shall require the recipient
14 to complete a form, promulgated by the department, stating such
15 inability. The department shall pay to a provider the amount of
16 any copayment that a medical assistance recipient or a general
17 assistance recipient is unable to pay.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
