AN ACT 1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the 2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for 3 jurisdiction and venue of the minor judiciary. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Section 1515(a)(2) of Title 42 of the 7 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, amended November 30, 2004 8 (P.L.1618, No.207), is amended to read: 9 § 1515. Jurisdiction and venue. 10 (a) Jurisdiction.--Except as otherwise prescribed by general 11 rule adopted pursuant to section 503 (relating to reassignment 12 of matters), magisterial district judges shall, under procedures 13 prescribed by general rule, have jurisdiction of all of the 14 following matters: 15 * * * 16 (2) Matters arising under the act of April 6, 1951
1 (P.L.69, No.20), known as The Landlord and Tenant Act of 2 1951, which are stated therein to be within the jurisdiction 3 of a magisterial district judge, regardless of the sum 4 demanded. 5 * * * 6 Section 2. The amendment of 42 Pa.C.S. § 1515(a)(2) shall 7 not affect jurisdiction of cases pending on the effective date 8 of this act. 9 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
