        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 12, 2004

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of May 6 through 12, 2004, as "Nurses Week"
     2     in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The American Nurses Association, which includes 47
     4  state and territorial nurses associations, has supported and
     5  promoted the nursing profession for more than 100 years; and
     6     WHEREAS, National Nurses Week, with the theme "Nurses: Your
     7  Voice, Your Health, Your Life," begins May 6 and ends May 12,


     1  Florence Nightingale's birthday; therefore be it
     2     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 6
     3  through 12, 2004, as "Nurses Week" in Pennsylvania in
     4  appreciation of the specialized skills and hard work of these
     5  valued health care professionals; and be it further
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives join the American
     7  Nurses Association and other nursing organizations, educational
     8  facilities and health care companies and institutions in
     9  recognizing the importance of quality nursing care.
