           SHANER, STERN, WALKO, WASHINGTON, SATHER, PETRONE, PHILLIPS,
           RUFFING, SAINATO, YOUNGBLOOD, WOJNAROSKI, McGILL, KOTIK,
           JAMES, JOSEPHS, HORSEY, FABRIZIO, FREEMAN, GERGELY, GORDNER,
           HARHAI, CIVERA, CLYMER AND DALLY, MARCH 3, 2003

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, MARCH 3, 2003

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Declaring that liquor, wine or beer should not be sold in
     2     supermarkets, drug stores or chain stores.

     3     WHEREAS, The State liquor control system, established to
     4  encourage moderate consumption, has succeeded in that goal; and
     5     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board State store
     6  system has generated more than $9 billion of reliable revenue to
     7  fund State programs without promoting the sale of alcohol;
     8  therefore be it
     9     RESOLVED, That liquor, wine or beer not be sold within
    10  supermarkets, drug stores or chain stores in this Commonwealth.
