AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for financial responsibility.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The definition of "financial responsibility" in
6 section 1702 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 1702. Definitions.
9 The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
10 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
11 context clearly indicates otherwise:

13 "Financial responsibility." The ability to respond in
14 damages for liability on account of accidents arising out of the
15 maintenance or use of a motor vehicle in the minimum amount of
16 [$15,000] $25,000 because of injury to one person in any one
17 accident, in the minimum amount of [$30,000] $50,000 because of
1 injury to two or more persons in any one accident and in the
2 minimum amount of [$5,000] $10,000 because of damage to property
3 of others in any one accident. The financial responsibility
4 shall be in a form acceptable to the Department of
5 Transportation.
