        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MARCH 7, 2002

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing the week of March 11, 2002, as "Pennsylvania
     2     Horticultural Week."

     3     WHEREAS, The horticultural industry in this Commonwealth is
     4  comprised of numerous sectors of the agribusiness economy,
     5  including landscape architects, vegetable growers, fruit
     6  growers, nurseries, Christmas tree growers, flower growers, sod
     7  growers, lawn care professionals, arborists and retail centers;
     8  and
     9     WHEREAS, All of the citizens of this Commonwealth benefit
    10  directly from the products and services provided by the

     1  horticultural industry; and
     2     WHEREAS, The collective strengths of the horticultural
     3  industry have contributed greatly to the overall success of
     4  agriculture in this Commonwealth; and
     5     WHEREAS, For over a decade, the Pennsylvania Horticultural
     6  Trade Alliance has represented the collective industry members
     7  before State government to educate and increase awareness of the
     8  various issues that affect them; therefore be it
     9     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
    10  horticultural industry for its continued commitment to quality
    11  and excellence; and be it further
    12     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
    13  week of March 11, 2002, as "Pennsylvania Horticultural Week."
