                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of November 1, 1971 (P.L.495, No.113), entitled
     2     "An act providing for the compensation of county officers in
     3     counties of the second through eighth classes, for
     4     compensation of district attorneys in cities and counties of
     5     the first class, for compensation of district election
     6     officers in all counties, for the disposition of fees, for
     7     filing of bonds in certain cases and for duties of certain
     8     officers," further providing for additional compensation of
     9     multiple officeholders.

    10     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    11  hereby enacts as follows:
    12     Section 1.  Section 11 of the act of November 1, 1971
    13  (P.L.495, No.113), entitled "An act providing for the
    14  compensation of county officers in counties of the second
    15  through eighth classes, for compensation of district attorneys
    16  in cities and counties of the first class, for compensation of
    17  district election officers in all counties, for the disposition
    18  of fees, for filing of bonds in certain cases and for duties of
    19  certain officers," amended December 13, 1985 (P.L.328, No.87),
    20  is amended to read:


     1     Section 11.  Where any of the officers herein mentioned hold
     2  two or more of the offices for which a salary is herein fixed,
     3  [he] the officeholder shall receive the highest salary fixed for
     4  any one of the offices which he holds, plus an additional amount
     5  of [two thousand dollars ($2,000)] three thousand dollars
     6  ($3,000) per annum[.] for the second office held, plus an
     7  additional amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000) per annum for
     8  each additional office held in excess of two offices. The
     9  additional compensation for multiple officeholders, as set forth
    10  in this section, including any prior additions to the salary of
    11  multiple officeholders, shall be added to and shall become a
    12  part of the base salary of the multiple officeholder, and all
    13  cost-of-living adjustment increases shall be calculated thereon.
    14  The periodic salary increases provided for in section 10.1 of
    15  this act shall be applicable to this section.
    16     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
