AMENDMENTS TO SENATE AMENDMENTS, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
FEBRUARY 5, 2002
AN ACT
1 Designating a bridge on SR 1038, over the Allegheny River in
2 Armstrong County, as the Kittanning Citizens' Bridge;
3 designating a bridge on SR 1017, over the north branch of
4 Tunkhannock Creek in Wyoming County, as the Nicholson
5 Veterans Memorial Bridge; and redesignating the Apollo Bridge <--
6 carrying SR 66 between Oklahoma Borough, Westmoreland County,
7 and Apollo Borough, Armstrong County, as the Leonard C.
8 Miller Bridge; AND MAKING A REPEAL. <--
9 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
10 hereby enacts as follows:
11 Section 1. Kittanning Citizens' Bridge.
12 (a) Designation.--The bridge carrying SR 1038 over the
13 Allegheny River and connecting Kittanning Borough and West
14 Kittanning Borough, Armstrong County, shall be known as the
15 Kittanning Citizens' Bridge.
16 (b) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
17 maintain signs at each end of the bridge designated in
18 subsection (a) displaying the name of the bridge.
1 Section 2. Nicholson Veterans Memorial Bridge.
2 (a) Designation.--The bridge carrying SR 1017 over the north
3 branch of Tunkhannock Creek in Nicholson Borough and Nicholson
4 Township, Wyoming County, is hereby designated and shall be
5 known as the Nicholson Veterans Memorial Bridge.
6 (b) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
7 maintain signs, which shall display the name of the bridge
8 designated in subsection (a), at each end of the bridge.
9 (c) Prior designations.--All prior designations concerning
10 the bridge described in subsection (a) are revoked.
11 Section 3. Leonard C. Miller Bridge.
12 (a) Redesignation.--The Apollo Bridge carrying SR 66 across
13 the Kiskiminetas River between Oklahoma Borough, Westmoreland
14 County, and Apollo Borough, Armstrong County, is hereby
15 redesignated and shall be known as the Leonard C. Miller Bridge.
16 (b) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
17 maintain signs to indicate the redesignation under subsection
18 (a).
19 SECTION 4. REPEAL. <--
20 SECTION 2 OF THE ACT OF JUNE 25, 2001 (P.L.695, NO.65),
21 ENTITLED, "AN ACT DESIGNATING A BRIDGE IN THE CITY OF JOHNSTOWN,
22 CAMBRIA COUNTY, THE FRANK J. PASQUERILLA BRIDGE; DESIGNATING A
23 BRIDGE ON STATE ROUTE 1017 OVER THE NORTH BRANCH OF TUNKHANNOCK
24 CREEK AS THE NICHOLSON BOROUGH VETERANS MEMORIAL BRIDGE;
25 DESIGNATING A BRIDGE ON STATE ROUTE 33 OVER THE LEHIGH RIVER IN
26 NORTHAMPTON COUNTY AS THE GENE HARTZELL MEMORIAL BRIDGE; AND
27 DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN LANCASTER COUNTY AS THE THADDEUS
28 STEVENS BRIDGE," IS REPEALED.
29 Section 4 5. Effective date. <--
30 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
