AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," further providing for withdrawal of
6 sponsorship.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 1910-A of the act of March 10, 1949
10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, added
11 July 1, 1985 (P.L.103, No.31), is amended to read:
12 Section 1910-A. Withdrawal of Sponsorship; Dissolution of
13 Community College.--(a) No school district or municipality
14 which is a local sponsor or a part of a local sponsor may
15 withdraw its sponsorship from a community college nor may any
16 community college be disestablished without the approval of the
17 State Board of Education.
18 (b) A sponsor or a part of a local sponsor which withdraws
19 sponsorship either voluntarily or as mandated by statute from a
1 community college shall reduce its tax levy by an amount equal
2 to any tax levied by the sponsor or part of a sponsor under
3 section 1909-A.
4 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
