                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for content of driver's license.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  Section 1510(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     6  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     7  § 1510.  Issuance and content of driver's license.
     8     (a)  General rule.--The department shall, upon payment of the
     9  required fee, issue to every qualified applicant a driver's
    10  license indicating the type or general class of vehicles the
    11  licensee is authorized to drive and any endorsements or
    12  restrictions, which license shall contain a distinguishing
    13  number assigned by the department to the licensee, the actual
    14  name, date of birth, residence address, a color photograph or

     1  photographic facsimile of the licensee, such other information
     2  as may be required by the department, and either a facsimile of
     3  the signature of the licensee or a space upon which the licensee
     4  shall write his usual signature with pen and ink. Personal
     5  medical data, including blood type, and other information for
     6  use in an emergency may be included as a part of the license.
     7  Information other than that required to identify the licensee,
     8  the distinguishing number and the class of license issued may be
     9  included in microdata form. Except as provided in subsection
    10  (f), an applicant shall include his Social Security number on
    11  his license application, but the Social Security number shall
    12  not be included on the license. No driver's license shall be
    13  valid until it has been signed by the licensee.
