A RESOLUTION
1 Declaring July 27, 1999, as "Korean War Veterans Armistice Day"
2 in Pennsylvania and urging all government agencies and
3 citizens to fly the American flag at half staff on July 27,
4 1999, in honor of those Americans who died as a result of
5 their service to the United States in the Korean War.
6 WHEREAS, The United States was engaged in the Korean War
7 during June 1950 through January 1955; and
8 WHEREAS, The Korean War cost the lives of 54,246 Americans,
9 and 8,177 Americans are still listed as missing in action; and
10 WHEREAS, It is appropriate to remember the sacrifice made by
11 those Americans in the service to their country and to raise
12 awareness of the Korean War; therefore be it
13 RESOLVED, That the Senate declare July 27, 1999, as "Korean
14 War Veterans Armistice Day" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
15 RESOLVED, That all government agencies and citizens of this
16 Commonwealth fly the American flag at half staff on July 27,
17 1999, in honor of those Americans who died as a result of their
1 service to the United States in the Korean War.
