        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MARCH 14, 2000

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring American Legion National Commander Alan G. Lance, Sr.,
     2     on the occasion of his visit to Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The American Legion and its members have been at the
     4  forefront of fighting for the freedom of our nation; and
     5     WHEREAS, Alan G. Lance, Sr., who currently serves as the
     6  Attorney General of Idaho, has also served his nation with honor
     7  during a distinguished military career; and
     8     WHEREAS, Alan G. Lance, Sr., was recently elected National
     9  Commander of the American Legion; and
    10     WHEREAS, Commander Lance is visiting the Commonwealth of
    11  Pennsylvania on March 19 and 20, 2000, in order to review
    12  veterans' programs; therefore be it
    13     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor Commander

     1  Alan G. Lance, Sr., on his visit and express its gratitude and
     2  support for his efforts on behalf of veterans and all freedom-
     3  loving Americans.
