A RESOLUTION 1 Designating the week of May 2 through 8, 1999, as "Drinking 2 Water Week" in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, While 80% of the earth's surface is covered with 4 water, only 1% of the water is suitable for human consumption; 5 and 6 WHEREAS, The American Water Works Association established 7 "National Drinking Water Week" more than 30 years ago to call 8 attention to water as a precious natural resource; and 9 WHEREAS, The conservation of drinking water and the assurance 10 of maintaining water quality is essential to this Commonwealth 11 and our nation; therefore be it 12 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
