                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring York County on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of
     2     its founding.

     3     WHEREAS, On August 19, 1749, York County was established as
     4  the first Pennsylvania county west of the Susquehanna River; and
     5     WHEREAS, Over the past 250 years, York County has grown from
     6  a small, backwoods community that harbored the Continental
     7  Congress to a community of 370,000 citizens with a robust
     8  economy and diversified social life; and
     9     WHEREAS, A group of York citizens, the 250th Anniversary
    10  Committee, has organized a yearlong celebration with a series of
    11  commemorative events and activities; therefore be it
    12     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor York County
    13  and all of its citizens on the occasion of the 250th anniversary
    14  of the founding of York County.
