AN ACT
1 Amending the act of April 8, 1982 (P.L.303, No.85), entitled "An
2 act establishing fees which shall be charged by a
3 prothonotary in a county of the second class," authorizing
4 the prothonotary to establish fees to enhance courthouse
5 security.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The act of April 8, 1982 (P.L.303, No.85), known
9 as the Second Class County Prothonotary Fee Act, is amended by
10 adding a section to read:
11 Section 2.3. Courthouse security.
12 (a) Fee authorized.--An additional fee may be charged and
13 collected by the prothonotary for an action which results in one
14 of the following:
15 (1) A plea of guilty.
16 (2) Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition.
17 (3) Probation without verdict.
18 (4) Court dismissal.
19 (b) Use.--Revenues collected under this section shall be
1 used to provide increased courthouse and courtroom security.
2 (c) Fund.--The Court Security Fund is hereby established in
3 counties of the second class. Into this fund, the prothonotary
4 shall deposit all revenues and the county treasurer shall make
5 all expenditures to carry out the provisions of this section.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
