AN ACT
1 Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for qualifications
3 of Adjutant General, Deputy Adjutant General and Assistant
4 Adjutant General.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 901(b) of Title 51 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9 § 901. Appointment of Adjutant General, deputies and
10 assistants.

12 (b) Qualifications.--[No Adjutant General, Deputy Adjutant
13 General or Assistant Adjutant General shall be appointed who
14 shall not have served at least ten years as a commissioned
15 officer in the Pennsylvania National Guard, or any of the armed
16 forces of the United States or their reserve components; the
17 aforesaid service may be cumulative.] Appointments to Adjutant
18 General, Deputy Adjutant General or Assistant Adjutant General
1 must be an honorably discharged veteran and a member in good and
2 regular standing of a Pennsylvania branch, post, lodge or club
3 of a recognized national veterans organization active in this
4 Commonwealth.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
