AN ACT
1 Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for an additional penalty
3 for certain violations of protection from abuse orders.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 6113.2. Violation within 72 hours of conviction.
9 If a person violates an order issued pursuant to this chapter
10 and the violation occurs within 72 hours of a conviction for a
11 prior violation under this chapter, the person shall, upon
12 conviction, in addition to any other penalty prescribed by law,
13 be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $500 nor more than
14 $5,000, or to imprisonment for not more than one year, or both.
15 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
