        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           SEPTEMBER 24, 1997

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Declaring the week of November 10 through 14, 1997, as "Veterans
     2     Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, November 11, 1997, is recognized nationwide as
     4  Veterans Day; and
     5     WHEREAS, The citizens of this Commonwealth are the
     6  beneficiaries of the great sacrifices made by veterans in
     7  defending the United States and the Commonwealth of
     8  Pennsylvania; and
     9     WHEREAS, It is appropriate for the citizens to honor all
    10  military servicepersons of this Commonwealth for their

     1  unselfish, patriotic commitment to the United States and the
     2  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
     3     WHEREAS, The citizens should be reminded of the great
     4  sacrifices made by these veterans and military servicepersons so
     5  that the citizens may live and enjoy the freedoms that exist
     6  today; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare the week
     8  of November 10 through 14, 1997, as "Veterans Appreciation Week"
     9  in Pennsylvania.
