INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
APRIL 7, 1997
A RESOLUTION
1 Designating the month of April 1997 as "Always Buckle Children
2 in the Backseat Month" in Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, The safety of children riding in motor vehicles is a
4 paramount concern of all parents and other residents of this
5 Commonwealth; and
6 WHEREAS, Children, just as adults, should always wear
7 properly buckled seat belts while riding in motor vehicles; and
8 WHEREAS, Children should, whenever possible, be seated in the
9 rear seat with properly buckled seat belts; and
10 WHEREAS, Infant car seats should never be affixed to the
11 front seat of a passenger vehicle; and
12 WHEREAS, All Pennsylvanians should be cognizant of safety
13 considerations when transporting children in motor vehicles;
14 therefore be it
1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
2 month of April 1997 as "Always Buckle Children in the Backseat
3 Month" in Pennsylvania.
