AN ACT
1 Amending Title 9 (Burial Grounds) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, classifying certain activities by
3 cemetery companies as for-profit.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 9 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes
7 is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 313. For-profit activities.
9 The manufacturer or sale of monuments, markers, bronze
10 materials, caskets and burial vaults by any cemetery entity,
11 including a not-for-profit cemetery entity, shall be considered
12 a for-profit enterprise for all purposes under the laws of this
13 Commonwealth.
14 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
