HOUSE BILL

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 28, 1984 (P.L.150, No.28), entitled
     2     "An act relating to the rights of purchasers of defective new
     3     motor vehicles," further providing for disclosure.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 3 of the act of March 28, 1984 (P.L.150,
     7  No.28), known as the Automobile Lemon Law, is amended to read:
     8  Section 3.  Disclosure.
     9     The Attorney General shall prepare and publish in the
    10  Pennsylvania Bulletin a statement which explains a purchaser's
    11  rights under this law. Manufacturers shall provide to each
    12  purchaser at the time of original purchase of a new motor
    13  vehicle a written statement containing a copy of the Attorney
    14  General's statement and a listing of zone offices, with
    15  addresses and phone numbers, which can be contacted by the
    16  purchaser for the purpose of securing the remedies provided for
    17  in this act. At the time of purchase, the dealer and the
    18  purchaser shall sign the written statement provided by the


     1  manufacturer.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
