AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for penalties for exceeding
3 maximum weights.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4945(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
8 § 4945. Penalties for exceeding maximum weights.
9 (a) Gross weight violations.--

11 (3) If the gross weight of any vehicle or combination
12 that transports municipal waste subject to the act of July 7,
13 1980 (P.L.380, No.97), known as the Solid Waste Management
14 Act, exceeds the applicable gross weight allowed by section
15 4941 or the registered gross weight allowed by section 4942,
16 whichever is less, the fine imposed under this subsection
17 shall be doubled.
