AN ACT
1 Prohibiting the use of free weights in prisons.
2 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
3 hereby enacts as follows:
4 Section 1. Definitions.
5 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
6 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
7 context clearly indicates otherwise:
8 "Prison." A State correctional institution, a county prison
9 or jail or any other correctional facility, including juvenile
10 facilities.
11 Section 2. Free weights prohibited.
12 The use of free weights in a prison is prohibited. This
13 section does not prohibit the use of exercise equipment.
14 Section 3. Effective date.
15 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
