AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for theft of rental
3 property.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 3932(a) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 3932. Theft of leased property.
9 (a) Offense defined.--A person who obtains personal property
10 under an agreement for the lease or rental of the property by
11 virtue of or subject to a written lease of such property is
12 guilty of theft if he intentionally deals with the property as
13 his own[.] or fraudulently removes the property from this
14 Commonwealth without the written consent of the lessor thereof
15 or fails to return such property to the lessor thereof within
16 seven days of receipt of a written demand to return the property
17 where such demand is delivered by registered or certified mail
1 to the person's last known address.
