                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for authority to erect traffic-
     3     control devices.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 6122 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 6122.  Authority to erect traffic-control devices.
     9     * * *
    10     (e)  Costs.--The Commonwealth shall bear the cost of
    11  designing, constructing, installing and maintaining traffic-
    12  control signals on State-designated highways and at
    13  intersections of State-designated highways and local roads. The
    14  department shall reimburse local authorities for the costs
    15  incurred for electricity used for traffic signals located on

     1  State-designated highways.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
